THE HOUSE OF GENISTA
I will be doing a Pastel Portrait of "Timazinti" as a Christmas commission, same photograph, so keep an eye open for her.
I have been having a short break from my Bear Making, but, I do have a little bear that is almost completed. She will be posted here as soon as I get a chance. I will however be getting back to my bear making in 2013.
A BIG "Thank You" to everyone who entered my Pastel Pet Portrait Give-A-Way. All the names of entrants were put into a tub, the correct amount of times this morning and the winner was pulled out by "Connor" a 14 year old animal lover.
I decided to have two winners, one from the dogs that were entered, and one from the cats that were entered so here are the winners as pulled out by Connor:
I will be emailing both winners to request clear head study photographs of their beloved pets in order for me to create their pastel portrait and will be requesting permission to add their photographs here on this post.
Thank you again to all who entered. Please look out for tomorrows post on "Genista Pawtraits" which will contain a Special Offer to everyone who entered my Give-A-Way.
I have recently started doing commissions for Pastel Pet Portraits as you have probably seen on previous posts. To celebrate my new venture I am having a blog Give-A-Way of a Pastel Pet Portrait. All you need to do to enter my Give-A-Way is become a follower of this blog and/or my art blog HERE at "Genista Pawtraits" plus leave a comment on either one of my Give-A-Way posts telling me the name of your dog/cat, breed, colour etc and your email address so that I can contact the winner. Comments will not be published, they will be kept private and deleted after the draw has taken place. The winner will need to send me by email a very clear photograph of their pet to enable me to create the pastel portrait. The better quality the photo the better the portrait will be.
If you are already a follower of this blog and/or my art blog I will put your name in twice. If you become a follower of both I will put your name in two more times.
An example of one of my pastel portraits:
If you put my Give-A-Way on your blog I will put your name in the draw for another chance also, but please let me know you have done so.
Draw will take place on Monday 6th August
I will publish any comments that do not contain an email address.
I hope you will all enter and I look forward to creating a Pastel Pet Portrait for the winner.
A sweet little french bulldog in graphite pencil A4 size on quality paper. The lighting was poor when taking these photographs so do not do my drawing justice. I will therefore add better photographs taken by my daughter with her super camera as soon as I am able.
The fourth of my recent pet potrait commissions to be completed is
A Female West Highland Terrier
Lillys' portrait was completed a little while ago but we have been away with the caravan for the last few weeks so I haven't had time to post her here untill today. Hope you like her.
Lillys' pastel portrait in its' wood frame to match the other three commissions.
Lillys' original pastel portrait is SOLD but prints, canvas prints, acrylic prints, framed prints and greeting cards of my original artworks are available to purchase HERE as are all my other originals. Why not have a peek?
The third of my recent four pastel pet portrait commissions to be completed is:
A Black/White Longhair Male Cat
Created on grey pastel velour paper with pastel pencils/sticks 6 x 9ins
Matted and framed to match Alfie and Toms' portraits. Same size and frame wanted for each portrait so they all match. The last portrait "Lilly" a West Highland Terrier is also nearly finished as is a Black Mix Siamese Cat that I have also been working on.
The second of my recent four pastel pet portrait commissions to be completed is:
A white/tabby shorthair male cat
Created on grey pastel velour paper with pastel pencils/sticks 6 x 9ins
Matted and framed to match Alfies portrait. Same size and frame wanted for each portrait so they all match.
I am now working on "Smudge" a beautiful long haired black/white male cat and "Lilly" a lovely little West Highland Terrier. I am also working on a few florals and wildlife portraits which I will be posting here soon.
I have been painting/drawing a lot again over the past few months and I really enjoyed creating this "FRIENDLY TIGER" pastel portrait last week for a childs' room. The little girl loves tigers and wanted a painting for her bedroom, nothing ferocious looking, just happy and friendly and we came up with this little chap. He has been created on grey pastel velour paper using pastel pencils. Portrait has been fixed and has been framed under glass.
I was lucky enough to receive these beautiful leather art journals in my Christmas stocking so I have been very busy doing some artwork "journal style" which I will be adding to my blog shortly. These are wonderful little books, just the right size to carry everywhere with me in my bag and I love the beautiful way they are decorated and bound. It will be a challenge for 2012 to fill these lovely journals with artwork as lovely and interesting as they are.
